The simplest way I can say it, is David is amazing. Right from the beginning he was kind, clear and very responsive. Packages are reasonably priced, even with the conversion from CAD to USD. On the day of the event, he really brought out the best in all of us. The whole day he was thoughtful and committed to making sure every moment was captured. We had a private beach party for our reception and got right in there getting tons of candid shots and capturing all the joy in the moment. Our friends and family could not stop talking about how amazing our photographers were. David was such a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. I reached out to him regarding our destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico in 2021. He responded right away! He made things so easy and stress-free from planning, signing the forms, and he even came out to our hotel to meet us a day or two before to make sure he understood what we wanted. He has worked with Hyatt Ziva before so he is familiar with the property (among lots of others in Mexico). We communicated often via Whatsapp which made it easy. On the actual day, he showed up with a whole crew of videographers and photographers with lighting and drone equipment. They all spoke excellent English if that is important to you, and made us feel very comfortable (we are not used to professional photography and I was worried about feeling “forced” or awkward). He is very relaxed and captured such amazing shots. He gave us a great deal (especially compared to American photographers) and even gave me more photos than I was expecting! He also got the photos/videos back to me in a very timely manner after editing appropriately. We even took a photo with him at the end of our reception because I loved him so much and wanted him to party with us a little. I would highly recommend David for any occasion. We used him July 2021 for our designation wedding. We are from the US and I was very nervous using a local photographer vs the resort photographer. But it turned out better than I could have ever expected. David was very responsive to all my many questions and concerns, he followed the resorts requirements for outside vendors and went above and beyond for our beautiful pictures. He used several different locations at the resort and came with great energy and enthusiasm! He gave us so many amazing pictures to choose from. David was easy to work with and went with the flow to adapt to changes in setting due to weather. He takes amazing shots and quick too (doesn’t take the same pose and adjust settings too long) and pictures turned out terrific. He wanted to take shots of us walking after the rain with the reflection from the water, and he immediately laid flat on the Wet ground To take the shots he wanted. Amazing and DEDICATED. We even wanted to get him back to our hotel the next day for day pictures because it was so easy to work with him, but due to the crazy hotel fees to get him in for another day pass, we opted out and now regretting it! We’d hire him again if we’re ever in the area again and would definitely recommend him to everyone!
My fiancé hired David to take photos of us during a surprise proposal and he was amazing! He was so very response prior to the session and was great to work with! He made us feel so comfortable and took a ton of pics! The photos came out SO good and we got them back just a few days later. We couldn’t pick a favorite because we loved them all! David was excellent. We had a bunch of family photos that we wanted to capture in a short amount of time and David handled everything. I wrote a list of the groups I wanted photograph and he took it from there. He then had us take a walk on the beach together and photographed us along the way. It was such a romantic and private moment prior to the reception and didn’t feel like a stiff “photoshoot” at all.
Great Weddings Photographer, Very Professional, Excellent Photos
David was our photographer for our destination wedding at the El Dorado Royale — Generations resort. He did a superb job all around. He arrived early to go over the shoot with us and how to schedule the time. He first did photos of the groom side and then of the brides side. Obviously he did the wedding and then after he took us around the resort for some great pictures with the scenery of the resort. He had numerous ideas to get some great personal photos. Some poses and arrangements I had not seen before in many wedding albums. We planned our wedding to finish just a little before sunset to take advantage of that background and lighting. He accommodated us perfectly and took some great shots. The next day morning he was back at the resort with all the photos. His company also does all the retouching and corrections that you would want. David had an assistant who was also very attentive and professional. Wedding photos are not something that you want to leave in the hands of an amateur. I have seen enough bad wedding photos to know that David does an exceptional job. We picked him through research and reviews of photographers in the area and were not disappointed with the result. I would highly recommend him for any type of occasion. It does not have to be a wedding. He would be great for a family photo shoot, excursion photos, or anything in the area. He speaks perfect English and communicates well with his customers. I got married in December 2017 at a resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico and David was my photographer! David was AWESOME! I recently got married in Mexico and David was my photographer. I was so nervous not knowing what to expect from a foreign photographer who’s portfolio I had never seen but I have to say he was absolutely brilliant! The pictures he took were amazing. He took lots of natural shots and also came up with great ideas for pictures which we “posed” for. When we look at the pictures now we are so relived we had such a good photographer. He was very easy going and you can see from his work that he is a perfectionist who wants to get the picture just right for his customers! David was very nice and accommodating. He took a lot of great photos but we didn’t absolutely love the quality. It would have been nice if he took the time to ask us what we wanted for our photos. A number of our photos are from a low angle of him kneeling down looking up and not many straight on. Be sure to ask for this type of shot when you book. David is an amazing photographer and would certainly recommend him. Just be sure to work with him on the angles and shots you specifically want ahead of time. We just relied on his expertise and not all the photos were what we wanted. He did do a great job!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with David Rangel and his photography crew for our wedding on October 30th, 2023 in beautiful Tulum. Their work surpassed our expectations and beautifully captured the essence of our special day. His team was highly professional throughout the entire process. The simplest way I can say it, is David is amazing. Right from the beginning he was kind, clear and very responsive. Packages are reasonably priced, even with the conversion from CAD to USD. On the day of the event, he really brought out the best in all of us. The whole day he was thoughtful and committed to making sure every moment was captured. We had a private beach party for our reception and got right in there getting tons of candid shots and capturing all the joy in the moment. David was such a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. I reached out to him regarding our destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico in 2021. He responded right away! He made things so easy and stress-free from planning, signing the forms, and he even came out to our hotel to meet us a day or two before to make sure he understood what we wanted. He has worked with Hyatt Ziva before so he is familiar with the property (among lots of others in Mexico). We communicated often via Whatsapp which made it easy. On the actual day, he showed up with a whole crew of videographers and photographers with lighting and drone equipment. They all spoke excellent English if that is important to you, and made us feel very comfortable (we are not used to professional photography and I was worried about feeling “forced” or awkward). He is very relaxed and captured such amazing shots. He gave us a great deal (especially compared to American photographers) and even gave me more photos than I was expecting! He also got the photos/videos back to me in a very timely manner after editing appropriately. We even took a photo with him at the end of our reception because I loved him so much and wanted him to party with us a little. I would highly recommend David for any occasion. We used him July 2021 for our designation wedding. We are from the US and I was very nervous using a local photographer vs the resort photographer. But it turned out better than I could have ever expected. David was very responsive to all my many questions and concerns, he followed the resorts requirements for outside vendors and went above and beyond for our beautiful pictures. He used several different locations at the resort and came with great energy and enthusiasm! He gave us so many amazing pictures to choose from. David was easy to work with and went with the flow to adapt to changes in setting due to weather. He takes amazing shots and quick too (doesn’t take the same pose and adjust settings too long) and pictures turned out terrific. He wanted to take shots of us walking after the rain with the reflection from the water, and he immediately laid flat on the Wet ground To take the shots he wanted. Amazing and DEDICATED. We even wanted to get him back to our hotel the next day for day pictures because it was so easy to work with him, but due to the crazy hotel fees to get him in for another day pass, we opted out and now regretting it! David was our photographer for our destination wedding at the El Dorado Royale — Generations resort. He did a superb job all around. He arrived early to go over the shoot with us and how to schedule the time. He first did photos of the groom side and then of the brides side. Obviously he did the wedding and then after he took us around the resort for some great pictures with the scenery of the resort. He had numerous ideas to get some great personal photos. Some poses and arrangements I had not seen before in many wedding albums. We planned our wedding to finish just a little before sunset to take advantage of that background and lighting. He accommodated us perfectly and took some great shots. The next day morning he was back at the resort with all the photos. His company also does all the retouching and corrections that you would want. David had an assistant who was also very attentive and professional. Wedding photos are not something that you want to leave in the hands of an amateur. I have seen enough bad wedding photos to know that David does an exceptional job. We picked him through research and reviews of photographers in the area and were not disappointed with the result. I would highly recommend him for any type of occasion. It does not have to be a wedding. He would be great for a family photo shoot, excursion photos, or anything in the area. He speaks perfect English and communicates well with his customers. David was very nice and accommodating. He took a lot of great photos but we didn’t absolutely love the quality. It would have been nice if he took the time to ask us what we wanted for our photos. A number of our photos are from a low angle of him kneeling down looking up and not many straight on. Be sure to ask for this type of shot when you book. David is an amazing photographer and would certainly recommend him. Just be sure to work with him on the angles and shots you specifically want ahead of time. We just relied on his expertise and not all the photos were what we wanted. He did do a great job!
